Locum doctors in the NHS
A team of researchers based at The University of Manchester wanted to gather patient and public views on the use of doctors working on a temporary basis (known as locums) in the NHS and what this means for quality and safety.
They approached Research for the Future to help them recruit participants to a series of focus groups, where people were asked to share their experiences and perceptions of locum doctors.
We invited research volunteers who had specified they were interested in joining discussion/focus groups.
Gemma Stringer (Research Associate, Alliance Manchester Business School) said:
“We had a great response from your volunteers and recruited more than 40 people. It’s been fantastic to get so many participants so quickly for our study – thanks so much for all your help.”
