Changes in paraoxonase activity, HDL properties and inflammatory markers in people with type 1 diabetes (Observational Study)

Jonathan Schofield, Clinical Research Fellow from The University of Manchester and Specialty Registrar in Endocrinology & Diabetes discusses accessing the campaign to support his research.

“I am immensely grateful to the Help BEAT Diabetes team for their efforts advertising our study exploring the association between high-density lipoprotein functionality and microvascular and macrovascular complications in type 1 diabetes.

“The Help BEAT Diabetes initiative provided an opportunity for diabetes patients to participate in this study who would not have been reached by our efforts recruiting in diabetes centres.

“It was immediately apparent that the Help BEAT Diabetes database is a vital resource for all researchers with an interest in diabetes. It was a pleasure to be able to work with patients as passionate as our research team about advancing our understanding of diabetes and managing the condition.”
