COMLOC

Cognitive muscular therapy (CMT) has been used previously to treat longstanding knee and back pain. This research wants to find out if CMT could also be used to improve respiratory function and symptoms of breathlessness in people living with long Covid.

CMT aims to teach people to stand, move and breathe with less muscle tension and reduce the body’s response to stress.

Results will be used to inform and develop future research to evaluate the best approaches to manage people living with long Covid.

This study is being led by researchers at the University of Salford, in collaboration with Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, who together provide a long Covid clinic for people in Salford.
