NHS bowel cancer screening
The NHS bowel cancer screening programme is available to everyone aged 54 – 74 years. It is currently being expanded to make it available from the age of 50. Everyone registered with a GP in England is automatically sent a bowel cancer screening kit every two years.
Uptake of bowel cancer screening can vary by local area and community. Results from this survey will help better understand the reasons for this so that more appropriate services can be developed.
This survey is being carried out by researchers at the University of Central Lancashire, in collaboration with North West Cancer Research, the leading cancer charity for the North-West and North Wales.
