Optimuscle: COPD

This project is looking to bring together a group of people with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) to help develop a grant application for a study that will use digital scanning technologies to help understand what happens when someone breathes.

The scanning technologies are already being studied as part of the Optimuscle study for people with breathing pattern disorder of dysfunctional breathing.  Researchers are hoping to extend this technology and treatment to those with COPD.

It is being carried out by a team of researchers based at the University of Salford.
