Improving catheter and central line care

Catheter infections affect hundreds of thousands of people in the UK each year, often leading to serious illness and longer hospital stays.

A company is developing a new device that uses safe, UV light to clean the area where a catheter enters the body. They want to gather views and opinions on the new device to help improve future catheter care and make sure it is acceptable to patients.

This workshop is being carried out by the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre (HRC) in Emergency and Acute Care at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, funded by the Department of Health and Social Care. The NIHR HRC work with companies, patients, and staff to turn ideas into better care.
